Joanna Dingus
Hey! My name is Joanna Dingus, and this is my 20th year teaching with Greene County Schools. I teach PK-4th grade Special Education. I attended East Tennessee State University. My certifications are Kindergarten, 1-12 Special Education, and K-6 Regular Education.
I first realized I wanted to be a teacher in the 4th grade. My teacher was so awesome and she made such an impact on my life, I knew I wanted to make a positive impact on children's lives. I want my students to feel comfortable in my classroom and feel that it is a positive place to learn. I want my students to feel a sense of success and self worth. I work hard to instill that in my students daily.
Baileyton is most definitely the best place to work. The students and faculty are the best! I love my job! Coming to work each day is a privilege.
I firmly believe that every child has the ability to learn on some level. Not all children learn in the same way. It is my job to find out the individual learning style of each child. Learning should be a positive experience. I want all of my students to experience success in one way or another. I try to instill in my children a love of books. Reading to your child is one of the best ways, as a parent, to help your child be successful. Help me make reading a happy and positive experience for your children. Read to your children often. It will not only help them become better readers, it is a bonding experience they will cherish.
