Curriculum
English Language Arts
In first grade, we use a whole language approach to teach our skills. We use unit studies to dig deeper into the standards. We teach the foundations of literacy using mentor texts while integrating many standards.
Math
We use the Eureka Math Curriculum to teach math. This curriculum utilizes many strategies to teach the state standards. Students are encouraged to find a strategy that works best for them.

Students also utilize the Zearn computer program. This is an online program that follows the Math lessons. This gives students a chance to see and hear the lesson a second time, which provides even deeper understanding of the concept.
iReady
Students may utilize the iReady Math and Reading computer program at home. This program begins at the student's level and progresses as they master a lesson. I have seen much growth by using this program.
